The
Genesis of the KV |
1. The Vidyalaya was established with the sponsorship of
Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) in 1985.
2. On 13th August 1985, the Vidyalaya started
functioning in Gogna Colony, Maithon with Classes I to V.
3. From 1985 to 1995, the Vidyalaya functioned in Gogna Colony
and grew up to +2 stage.
4. In the academic session 1995-96, it shifted to its new
building located in the Dyke Area, Maithon.
5. In the year 1991, first batch of Class-X passed out.
6. The first batch of Class-XII (Science) passed out in 1995. |
Important Milestones of Growth

1. The Humanities stream was opened in the year
2000. It was subsequently closed in 2004.
2. The Commerce stream started from 2004.
3. One section each in Science & Commerce increased from the
session 2008-09.
4. All the three streams (i.e., Science, Commerce &
Humanities) started functioning again from 2009. |

Details of Previous & New
Campus
|
1. The previous campus located in Gogna Colony
was provided by DVC Maithon in 1985.
2. The DVC Maithon constructed a new magnificent
four-storied compact building with spacious classrooms, well
equipped laboratories, library and computer labs.
3. A beautiful children's park with play equipments, lush
green playground and a beautiful garden are added features of
the Vidyalaya. |

Football, Cricket, Hockey, Kabaddi & Athletics.
6. Two Kho-kho fields, Two Badminton courts and One Volleyball
field.
7. One Basketball court.
8. Indoor Games facilities for Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess
available with the Vidyalaya. |
